What do roofing and roof repairs involve?
Everything needed to keep your roof watertight. On a tiled roof it is usually about slipped or broken tiles, on a flat roof about bitumen roofing that has reached the end of its life. We also clean and repair gutters, because a blocked gutter causes damage just as often as a leaking roof.
Roof damage often shows up inside first. If you see one of these signs, have it checked before the frosty weather arrives:
- A damp patch in the loft or on the top-floor ceiling
- Water running over the edge of the gutter
- Moss or plants growing in the gutter or between the tiles
- Loose, slipped or broken roof tiles
- Puddles that stay on a flat roof
- Draughts or damp around a roof window or chimney
Do not climb up yourself
Most roofing accidents happen on the ladder, not on the roof. A wet or mossy roof surface is also extremely slippery. Instead, take a photo from the ground or from a roof window and send it to us — we can often already judge what is going on from that.

What does a roof repair cost?
We charge €181.44 incl. VAT (€149.95 excl. VAT) for the first hour on site and after that €108.84 incl. VAT (€89.95 excl. VAT) per hour. Outside Almere there is an additional €42.35 call-out charge. Replacing a few loose roof tiles usually takes one to two hours. For larger jobs we give you a fixed-price quote in advance.
How long does bitumen roofing last?
Bitumen roofing lasts twenty to thirty years on average, depending on the quality and the position of the roof. We assess whether a repair still makes sense or whether replacing it is the wiser choice.
Can roofing work be done in winter?
Repairs usually can. Bitumen work needs dry weather and a minimum temperature, so we plan it on a suitable day. With an acute leak we first seal it temporarily, whatever the weather.
Who pays for roofing work with an owners' association (VvE) or a rented home?
With an owners' association (VvE), the roof almost always falls under the shared parts of the building and therefore under the association. With a rented home, the roof is as a rule the landlord's responsibility. We state clearly on the invoice what we have done.
How quickly can you be there for a roof leak?
Usually we can come the same day; exactly how quickly depends on your location and on how busy we are at the time. Call us and we will tell you honestly when we can come. With an acute leak we first seal it so no more water gets in.

Often not. On a tiled roof it is usually a few tiles, on a flat roof often a seam or a local area of damage. We first look at what is really needed and explain what we find.
