What do roofing and roof repairs involve?
Roofing covers everything that keeps your roof watertight. On a tiled roof it is often a matter of tiles that have slipped or broken. On a flat roof it is usually the bitumen roofing that has worn out. We also clean and repair gutters, because a blocked gutter can do just as much damage as a leaking roof.
You often notice roof damage indoors first. Do you recognise any of the following signs? Then have the roof checked before the frost sets in:

How long does bitumen roofing last?
On average, bitumen roofing lasts twenty to thirty years. That depends on the quality of the material and the roof’s orientation. We assess whether a repair is still worthwhile or whether replacing it is the better choice.
Can roofing work be done in winter?
For most repairs that is not a problem. Work on bitumen does need dry weather and a minimum temperature, so we choose a suitable day for it. If the roof is leaking acutely, we first seal it temporarily, whatever the weather is doing.
Who pays for roofing work with an owners' association (VvE) or a rented home?
In a building with an owners’ association (VvE), the roof is almost always one of the shared parts, and then it is up to the association. In a rented home, the roof is usually the landlord’s responsibility. In Lelystad most social rented homes belong to the housing association Centrada.
