Very happy that I found Mohammed via Werkspot! Clear communication about what he can do, a clear quote, and he keeps going with his work until it is finished! He thought along well about different options. The leak problem upstairs was neatly solved and after that I had a whole new toilet put in downstairs! Clearly this man has managed to turn his hobby into his job, lovely to see!

- ABOUT THIS SERVICE
Extending a room or adding a new one: what is the difference?
An uitbouw (rear extension) makes an existing room bigger, usually the living room or kitchen at the back of the house. An aanbouw is a new room built onto the house, such as an extra bedroom, workspace or utility room. For the building work it makes little difference: both get a foundation, walls, a roof and window and door frames, and with an uitbouw the back wall is opened up.
People choose an extension to:
- Get more living space without moving house
- Make the kitchen or living room bigger
- Add a bedroom or bathroom on the ground floor
- Bring more light into the house with sliding doors
- Have a workspace or hobby room at home
- Make the house a better fit for the family
One point of contact for the whole extension
We do the building work and also the plumbing, the electrics, the heating and the finishing inside. So you do not have to coordinate separate contractors, and you have one fixed contact from start to finish.
What is included?
- A quote with a fixed price beforehand
- The foundation, the walls, the roof and fitting the window and door frames
- A steel beam where the back wall is opened up
- Clearing up the work area afterwards
- One point of contact from start to finish
- 1-year guarantee on the work carried out
Not included
- Municipal fees for a permit (omgevingsvergunning), if one is needed
- Building drawings or structural calculations, unless they are in the quote
- OUR SERVICES
How we build your extension
Foundation
The base of the extension: insulated formwork, reinforcement and poured concrete for the foundation and the floor. We match the foundation to the ground and the structure.
Steel beam
Where the back wall is opened up, a steel beam takes the weight of the wall above it. That gives you an open connection between the house and the extension.
Brickwork or timber frame
Traditional masonry, with an inner wall of blocks and an outer wall of brick, or a timber frame with insulation and a brick façade. We discuss beforehand what suits your house best.
Flat roof
Timber joists with roof boarding, insulation and bitumen roofing, with a neat roof edge and drainage for the rainwater.
Sliding doors and frames
Sliding doors to the garden, French doors or extra windows in the side wall. We fit them watertight and finish them neatly into the brickwork.
Finishing inside
Plastering, flooring, electrics and heating in the new room. Because we do this ourselves as well, the extension is finished as soon as the building work is done.

- FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Questions about an extension
Is your question not listed? Feel free to call or WhatsApp us, also outside office hours.
Do I need a permit for an extension?
Often not. At the back of the house you may build without a permit under certain conditions, for example up to 4 metres deep. Whether that applies to your home depends on the size, the position and the rules of your municipality. Do the permit check on the Omgevingsloket, the government's permit portal, or ask us: we will look at it with you.
What does an extension cost?
That depends on the size, the foundation, the choice of brickwork or timber frame, the roof and the doors. You always get a quote with a fixed price from us first, so you know where you stand beforehand. Feel free to send a photo and the measurements on WhatsApp for a first estimate.
Which is better: brickwork or a timber frame?
Both give you a sturdy, well-insulated extension. A timber frame is lighter and quicker to put up; a brick extension is the traditional way. From the outside they can look the same, with a brick façade. We will advise you on what suits your house best.
How long does it take to build an extension?
That depends on the size and how it is built. The quote also includes the schedule, so you know when we start and when the extension will be finished.
Can I stay at home during the build?
Usually, yes. Most of the work happens outside. We plan it so that the back wall is open for as short a time as possible, and we keep the work area safe and tidy.
Do you also do the finishing inside?
Yes. We also do the plastering, the floor, the electrics, the heating and, if you like, the kitchen in the new room. So you have one point of contact for the whole extension.
